& mdash; On Monday, demi lovato returned to metropolitan opera. Eight years ago, an unpleasant experience made her wonder if she wanted to participate again.

After the Spring Festival Gala in 2016, lovato posted a photo of her standing on the red carpet near Nicki Minaj on Instagram, which was later deleted, and she seemed very unhappy. Lovato wrote that this photo "well summarizes my first meeting, and it may be my last meeting."

"I had a terrible experience," she told Billboard in an interview in 2018. "This is very exclusive. “

Lovato said that she remembered being "so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink", and she finally left early-wearing "millions of dollars worth of diamonds" at that time-to attend an anonymous alcoholics meeting.

She said: "At that meeting, I had a closer relationship with those homeless people who were in the same predicament as me than people in metropolitan opera."

Lovato publicly recorded her history of drug abuse and rehabilitation.

In July 2018, after releasing a song called "Awake", lovato revealed that she had relapsed for one month, and she was hospitalized because she almost died of overdose. She later shared in the 2021 YouTube documentary "demi lovato: dancing with the devil" that during her stay in hospital, she suffered many strokes and heart attacks.

The singer turned over a new leaf and told andy thorn on his Sirius XM radio program last year that she was practicing abstinence and was in a "more positive thinking space".

"I won't change my path because I have no regrets," she said.
