According to medical officials, Israeli air strikes in Rafah have killed at least 27 people, including 9 children, since Monday. Israeli leaders have warned that military operations in this southern city will continue until Hamas is wiped out from "the whole Gaza Strip" or until the first hostage returns.
3. Tik Tok Ban
Tik Tok has sued to block a US law that may force a nationwide ban on this popular application. Tik Tok and his parent company, ByteDance, claimed in a petition filed on Tuesday that the law signed by US President Joe Biden last month was unconstitutional because it stifled American speech and prevented them from obtaining legal information. This court challenge triggered a historic legal battle, which will determine whether the US security concerns about Tik Tok's connection with China will exceed the First Amendment rights of the 170 million US users of the app. If it loses, Tik Tok may be banned from the US App Store unless ByteDance sells the app to a non-China entity before mid-January 2025.

Today, more than 145 million people from northeastern Texas to Carolina are at risk of bad weather, while thousands of people in Michigan are enduring power outages.
